The Arboretum

The approach to the Burton Contable Holiday Park takes you through a relatively new and rapidly developing arboretum.

The brainchild of the late John Chichester-Constable and designed by Stephen Bean Associates, the arboretum covers nearly 30 acres of parkland and will form an impressive introduction to the park for visitors when fully mature.

The Arboretum is open to the public between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm from 1st March to 31st October each year.

"I would like to thank my friends and associates who are helping in the creation of the Constable Arboretum.

Inspired by the work of past owners of Burton Constable, notably William Constable (1727-1791), this living representation of the Sciences, Botany and the Arts will, I hope, grow and prosper for all time to remind us that the future and its many changing facets thrive, rooted in the past.

Over the years the area will grow to approximately twelve hectares, a fitting tribute to future generations."
